Design consistency was tough to maintain as the product grew
While functional, the existing design lacked the polish and intuitiveness needed to scale smoothly
The process
Together with the Stella team, I ran brainstorming sessions to uncover key pain points in the app. From there, I created both technical and visual mood boards and shared them with the founders to gather feedback early on. This approach allowed me to define clear action points before even opening Figma.
Next, I mapped out ideas directly in Figma, collaborating closely with the team to ensure alignment with their goals and to improve user flows.
At the same time, I built a component library, iterating based on their feedback and approvals. Throughout the process, I refined the brand, updating styles, fonts, and components, to ensure consistency and establish a standardized design system aligned with their brand guidelines.
